As promised by co-founder of Denver Urban Homesteading, James Bertini, new vendors have continued to sprout at the Denver Indoor Farmers Market held Saturdays from 9:00 to 2:00 at 200 Santa Fe. “We will have new fooders joining us next month/next year/in a few weeks, and one of our goals is to make the market a one-stop shopping place.” Here are a few pics of what you can expect to find from some of the newest folks.
Twin Mountain Milkhouse brought along goat cheese from their neighbors in Del Norte.
Styria Bakery, named for the southeast state in Austria, had many mouthwatering breads. One Yelp reviewer called the Lemon White Chocolate Mint Bread “hands down the best bread I have ever eaten.” I purchased the Kalamata Olive White Tuscan Bread. It was a big hit at my house.
Hailing from the same region in Austria, Chef Neuhold’s Styria Catering had samples of cedar plank smoked salmon, and various chowders. As a New Englander, I’m a sucker for a good clam chowder. After learning that Chef Neuhold won a ‘Chowda’ contest in Boston in 1991, I had to take some home with me.
Chef Neuhold is organizing the first Denver Food and Kitchen Show at the Colorado Convention Center October 8-10th, that along with showcasing local chefs, local food, kitchen designers and gadgets, will also serve as a large indoor farmers’ market, with “Colorado Proud” as the main theme. Are you interested in becoming a vendor at the show? Contact Chef Neuhold at the Professional Chef’s Association.
